For museums & visitor attractions

Know who walked in. Then follow up.

Most of your visitors leave without you ever knowing who they were. They walk the grounds, come to the event, bring the grandkids — and none of it reaches the people who have to follow up. We fix that, and turn it into members, reviews and gifts.

If people come through your doors, your grounds, or your events, this is for you.

No pitch — we’ll tell you if we’re not the right fit

One of ours

Museum of Danish America

Fjord, the Thomas Dambo troll, in her boat on the prairie, with the trail leading back to the museum

A museum in rural Iowa with a Thomas Dambo troll out on the prairie. The grounds are free and open, so most of the people who came were invisible. They arrived, walked out to the troll, and left without the museum ever knowing.

13,000+

checked in out at the troll, not at the front desk

Those are visitors the museum would never otherwise have met. Now the ones who leave an email hear from the museum after their visit.

The honest problem

You already know what needs doing.

There just isn’t a version of your week where someone also gets to:

  • Ask every visitor where they traveled from
  • Follow up with the ones who aren’t members yet
  • Thank the members who came in, and count the visit
  • Get last night’s event list onto the right records
  • Ask a happy visitor for a Google review
  • Keep the website current
  • Pull the numbers the board is going to ask for

Each one takes five minutes. That’s the whole problem — and every one of them comes up while somebody is standing at the desk waiting to be helped.

The virtual front desk

Your front desk can’t be everywhere.

You have a front desk, and it isn’t the problem. The problem is everyone who never walks past it — out on the grounds, at the event, in the parking lot — and everyone it never hears about again. So we build you a second one that can be anywhere: a kiosk inside, a code out where people actually are, a link at the event.

Your membership database knows they pay dues. Your event tool knows they came to the lecture. Your donor system knows they gave three years ago. Nobody knows it’s the same person.

We make it one person — and then the follow-up fits who they actually are.

Someone checks in at the kioskThey’re in the contact database before they’ve left the lobby
Someone scans the code out on the groundsYou finally know about the visitor who never came inside
A first-timer goes homeThey get an invitation to become a member
A member comes inThey get thanked, and the visit gets counted
Someone registers for an eventIt lands on the same record as their visits
The board asks how the season wentIt’s already a report

None of that asks anyone at the desk to remember anything.

How we work

We set it up. You don’t.

Nobody on your staff is going to be handed a login and a tutorial.

01

We map it with you

Together we go through every way someone actually arrives — the front door, the grounds, an outdoor exhibit, an event, the parking lot — and work out where you’re losing people. Free, before you’ve paid us anything.

02

We build it

Kiosks, check-in pages, and the follow-up behind them. You approve it — and when it’s ready we walk your staff and volunteers through it and leave them a short guide, so the next person who starts can pick it up without waiting on us.

03

We keep it running

When something needs changing, you tell us and we change it. Same people, every time.

Whatever you run now

Works with the systems you already have.

We don’t replace your donor database. We connect to it.

If your systems don’t talk to each other

Most don’t. Membership in one place, events in another, check-in nowhere at all. We build the connections so one person is one record instead of four. What’s possible depends on what your software allows, and we’ll tell you before you buy.

If you run a donor or membership database

Whatever you use, keep it — it stays your system of record for constituents and giving. We connect to it so a visit shows up against the right person. Nobody is moving your data.

If you don’t run anything yet

You don’t need to go buy something else first. Check-in, follow-up, membership status and the reports can all live in one place.

If something else is eating your time

Event registrations, rental contracts and deposits, post-visit surveys, volunteer sign-ups, the appeal you send every November. Tell us what’s taking your time and there’s a good chance it can live here too.

Where to start

Three ways to start.

Every one of these is the same visitor system. The difference is how much of it runs on its own — and how much of what you already own gets connected to it.

Tablets and kiosk enclosures are quoted separately, so you can supply your own if you’d rather.

What’s not included

A new website, online ticketing, e-commerce, and member login portals. Content changes past what your plan covers. Any of that is a separate quote, and you’ll have the number before we start anything.

Not a museum?

We work with other visitor-facing organizations too — historical societies, cultural centers, attractions, and animal rescues. Tell us what you run and we’ll tell you whether it fits.

Start here

Book a call.

Tell us what’s happening at your museum and we’ll tell you whether we can help. You’ll be talking to the people who’d be doing the work, not a salesperson.

  • What you know about your visitors now, and what you don’t
  • What it would take to know more without adding work at the desk
  • Whether we’re the right fit — and we’ll say so if we’re not

Take the one-pager. One page you can forward to your board, no call required.
